How You Could Avoid Wasting Your Money And Your Time, By Making One Simple Choice!

Guys, yesterday was one of the worst days of my life! Me and my friend Pete were playing Xbox 360 live, brand new copy of Madden and drinking a couple of beers.  And like many systems his age (2 days old). He got the 3 red lights.

Now, I’ve fixed my own Xbox 360 with guides before, and was all about fixing his system right there. But Pete wouldn’t have it, he was convinced that I would break the system or something worse.

So Pete looked it up, and sure enough, he didn’t have a warranty for his system and wasn’t looking to fork over $150 to get it shipped and fixed at Microsoft HQ. And hey can you blame the guy? It takes like 2-3 months and there’s so many horror stories on whether or not you get your system back in one piece.

So I pushed. And Pushed… For him to just let me fix it.

He wouldn’t have it. He just kept being a baby and fought it. Well being the headstrong guy I am, I told him I was fixing it, and he stomped off! Now remember I’ve done this more than once, so it took me like 42.8 minutes to fix his system (give or take a few milliseconds). But me and Pete wouldn’t stop arguing.

I said look…

I’ve done this hundreds of times for spare cash, you know I fixed our friend john’s xbox, so cool it. Let’s just turn it on and drink some more beer till we can’t feel feelings anymore.

Well Pete calmed down a bit, and agreed. He asked me how much I paid to learn all of this; I told him how I spent $29.95 for it.

For far less than what Microsoft wanted from me, and did it with absolutely no risk or wait time.

Pete was impressed, cried a little, and passed out after I kicked his ass in madden.

Was an all right night I guess.

I’ve seen this question surfacing a lot lately on forums as well as places like yahoo answers. So I wanted to make a quick post just to update everyone, and let you guys know just what to look for.

But first, if you don’t know, the recent releases of the new Xboxs have been an attempt to cut down on the Ring of Death also known as the Xbox 360 Red Ring. And for those of you who have gotten the Falcon, you probably already have received the Ring of Death or are hoping it never shows up (knock on wood). Unfortunately the Falcon has been reported to still receive the deadly Ring of death.

So what makes the Jasper special? Simply put, less heat, therefore, hopefully no ring of death. They’ve shrunk the GPU and CPU down to 65nm, in the previous release of the Falcon, the GPU was full size, and they had only shrunken the CPU down to 65nm.

Needless to say, a few of our recent Xbox repairs were on the Falcon.

Figuring out whether or not you have a Jasper is quite simple.

You just need to see what the Amp rating is; you can find this located on the bottom left corner of the back plate, just above the “MADE IN CHINA w/ LEAD PAINT” sticker. For those looking to purchase one, it’s right next to the barcode, so you can see if you’re getting a known ring of death system or not.

If it says 12V - 14.2A:5V you are staring at a Falcon (RUN!)

If it says 12V - 12.1A:5V you are looking at a Jasper

I’d be curious to hear some reviews on the Jasper and whether or not anyone has received the Ring of Death aka Xbox 360 Red Ring. So Leave A Comment~

Xbox 360 1 Red Light, is that one step away from 3?

Oh no! You got a red light, this is bad! All of your friends have been getting the red ring of death (RROD) lately. And you’re worried you might be next one to fall on the bandwagon. I mean after all, one light means that it could get a second one, and then a third one; right?

    WRONG!

The Xbox 360 is a sophisticated piece of software, but with a rather error system. The dreaded Xbox 360 Red Light, could be one of two things. The first and easier to fix is a hard drive error. Now it can be identified by the error codes: E67, E69, E79.

A bum hard drive could mean that it needs to be formatted, or that it’s not connected correctly. Or possibly it’s dead. But don’t give up hope, with google you can easily distinguish which methods or actions you need to take; to fix the error within five minutes.

Now the more common error and unfortunately the little bit harder one to fix, is a DVD drive error, and it’s identified by the codes: E64, E65 and E66. If you’ve already found yourself coming up with errors like “Dirty Disc,” “Unplayable Disc,” “Disc Read Error” and any similar phrase. This could be because of a misaligning in your disc tray, and it’s fairly easy to fix yourself.

WARNING: Before you even touch the laser or even attempt to calibrate it, I ask that you check out the post and video regarding fixing the misaligning on our website. I guarantee you will do your system a lot more justice, and save yourself from not only spending money, but time.

    Good luck and happy gaming!

    Xbox 360 Red Ring

Xbox 360 Red ring of death

Just about everyone these days has heard of the Xbox 360. You’ve probably even heard of the red light error, also known as the red ring of death. Well if you’re considering buying an Xbox 360 or have received the E74 error, then it’s no surprise why you’re here.

    You want answers.

So let’s talk about the reasons as to why these errors occur, and what our options are.

    How it happens

The xbox 360 was first reported having some kind of overheating problem, that would force the system to lockup, freeze, display E74, and/or present a red light.

The cause of this is due to hardware issues within the system. The two processors CPU and GPU become overheated when playing your favorite video games.

    Microsoft will fix it

Yes, Microsoft will fix it for free (if you have a warranty). Otherwise, you, I, and everyone else who feels they deserved a working system for $200-$300 are stuck with an expensive decorative item.

Now, you can still send it to Microsoft and have them repair it for you. However, you’ll find yourself waiting months as they fix every broken Xbox 360 sent to them. What’s more, you’ll spend another $125 or so in fees. It’s just not worth it. Especially with all the claims of missing hardware, software and anything else that might have been packaged with your system.

    So why risk it?

You won’t because obviously if you came here, you’re looking for alternative answers to this problem. And you know what, you’re in luck. You’re not the only fan to find this to be an injustice. There are many out there just like you, and because of this, they’ve put together video tutorials and guides to help you fix your Xbox 360 within the hour, and with just the common tools you’d find around your house. Most of us don’t speak geek and thankfully they’ve put together some very useful guides that are very easy to understand, come with several pictures and videos to make the process as easy as can be.

Just take a look at http://www.xbox-repairs.com and you’re sure to find the right guide for you.
