Hey Guys, It’s John Here. And today I want to talk to you a bit about the E64 Error Code. Now this error can take place from trying to flash your dvd-rom’s firmware. And I highly recommend that before you even attempt this, that you fully understand what to do, do it step by step. And make sure you get the DVD key, otherwise you may find yourself with a bricked xbox 360. Add in a Mod-chip, and microsoft is not going to touch your system. So be smart.

  • Option 1 - Flash back to original firmware, this works every time.
  • Option 2 - Manually hex-edit your drive key into your modified firmware and flash that firmware. This seems to have a pretty good success rate.

Now this error can stem from routine updates or the cheaply made flash chip, just failing. So you may have to install a new dvd drive at some point…

That all said, it could also be stemmed with your hard drive, which is specifically why I included this video to show you exactly what the symptoms are. If the problem is your hard drive, it could be due to a dead hard drive =(…
